What an awesome blogger I am!!
Well, lots to catch up on so let's not waste time.
I'll start with Owen. He just finished up his first year of kindergarten. What a fun time!! He is doing two years of Kindergarten because he is still so young. Although, (not to brag but..) he was right at the top of his class reading at a 2nd grade level. He smarter than he should be (we call him our evil genius) he can remember everything and he comes up with some very interesting ideas. It truely is frightning! However on the social and emotional side of things he is still behind. So one more year of Kindergarten will be great.
His latest idea was this - See it all started when we told him if he drinks our Pepsi it will stunt his growth and he'll stay small. And Scott has a thing with migdets (I'll explain that one later but let's just say he thinks they are adorable!) So Owen told us one day that when Daxx gets a little bigger like when he is 5 we should start giving him Pepsi then we will have our very own migdet. The things he thinks through are terrifying to me. For example - he wants to hook up a turbo boost to the cat and send him off the roof. "That would be sweet Mom!" He would like a zip line from the roof to the tree. He told me that since I don't have a seat for Daxx on my bike I should hook up, with a bungee cord, the stroller then he could go on bike rides with us. I'll think of more later.
So having a kid in school was interesting. It was awesome to see him learn and grow and gain more self confidence (not really lacking in this dept. to begin with) but it was fun to watch. He had the best teacher ever!! Mrs. Montgomery is the best Kindergarten teacher in the world. She has developed a teaching method for learning to read that is incredible! In fact it will be published this summer, I believe, for others to use. It is called "Learning with Giggles and Grins". And there are pictures of Owen in it! BONUS! I am excited for it. Anyway, he made a ton of friends and really enjoyed school.
Owen is in karate. Right now he is a white belt with a yellow stripe. So he is just beginning but moving right along. In the last competition he took 3rd in the state for self defense in his age group!! He won a bronze medal! I am so proud of him! He was not enjoying karate at first but he has stuck it out and now he can see how rewarding it can be.
He also just started T-ball. What a riot! Those kids are hilarious. The ball is hit and everyone on the field swarms to the ball! The first time Owen got up to bat he started running to 1st and realized he had his helmet on so he walks back to his coach to give it back then finishes running to 1st. It was awesome! He makes me laugh all the time. I love it!
Now my Sydney. She is 110% girl!! She is all things princess and fairy tales. She loves the Barbie movies and sings along. Ok I admit it those movies are good. It is fun to see her dance around with a blanket over her shoulders like a shawl or cape, singing. It is her dancing blanket she says.
She is in gymnastics too. She works very hard every class and loves it! Her coaches say she is the one in her class that is taking it all in and atually learning not just having play time. I am glad to hear that because she can be a little flighty sometimes. She is such a tender heart. She would do anything for anyone. She always shares even when she doesn't want to. I tell her she doesn't have to all the time but she does anyway. She is learning to ride her bike. She's not so sure about that yet but is trying really hard.
She has her Dad and Spence and every other male in the family she knows wrapped right around her little finger! Who can blame them? (Have you seen her eyes?!) I really am not looking forward to her dating ever. She is gorgeous already! Scary, scary for me. My cousin is teaching her daughter to, on a date when he leans in for a kiss, head butt him. I love it!! I think that's what I'll teach Syd.
She is going to start preschool this year. That will be fun. As sweet as she is she still has quite the mind of her own.
Her favorite thing to do right now is to rock out to the Ting Tings. (look them up). It is hilarious! I will get video of it and put it on here. So that about wraps it up with Syd. She's sweet, beautiful, girly, and has a mind all her own.
Let's move on to Daxx now. He's the one who has changed the most. He is now 18 months and into everything! No, that doesn't even start to describe him. It's more like a tornado at all times here. I can't keep up with him! His fave is to climb onto the counter and get whatever is there, usually a Pepsi. He will chug a whole can! That's not a fun afterward. We finally got a lock to our freezer so he doesn't climb in after emptying it anymore.
He is very sweet though. He used to shout my name when he wanted something and now I taught him to whisper it. It's so nice.
This is his real first year getting to play outside and he is on overload! He just can't quite get enough. At first he wasn't sure what to do so he would stare around him and watch but now he's learned how to swing and slide and play. He loves it outside.
He started crawling around July last year and walking around January. It's been a dead run ever since. He goes goes goes from the moment his eyes open til they slam shut against their will.
Daxx has added something great to our family even though I'm not for sure what exactly it is. I just know that he is definately meant to be in our family right now. He is amazing!!
So now me and Scott. Not much other than kids and chasing kids. Scott was laid off from the railroad which was hard. Of course financially it was hard but more than that it is hard to watch Scott. He loves working on the trains so much it's kind of ridiculous. He is like a kid going to the playground when a call comes in for him to go. He gets giddy! I miss that the most. But until it picks back up he is managing a carpet cleaning business. He has done this on the side for a few years and when he got laid off he found a guy that wanted someone to run his business. It's working pretty well so far. It's just getting the clients built back up. But so far so good. Here's my shameless plug - If you or anyone you know needs carpet cleaning call Scott! It is Norton Industries 801-376-9082. He does residential and commercial. Ok there enough commercials.
Last November my cousin Spencer moved in with us. It's been awesome. He is 20. He went on a mission and after 5 months he got hit by a car. He was on his bike. The lady got out and threw 20 bucks at him and said "That oughta cover your bike". Yup. Well, it ended up that the nerve in his foot ripped apart so he had to come home to do some surgeries and rehab on it. That was last winter. So he moved in with us and was planning on going back but in December this last year (actually a year and 3 days from the day he was hit on his bike) he was standing in his friends yard and was hit by a drunk driver. The guy was going 65 and there were no signs of braking. It should have killed Spencer. But instead it messed up his left side. The nerves in his arm shredded leaving his arm pretty much useless. Oh did I mention he is, er was, left handed? He did get use of his shoulder and elbow back but from what it looks like now he'll never get use of his hand back. It sucks. It really makes me hate drunk drivers even more.
So anyway, he lives with us and works with Scott. He is going to start school in the fall. He is teaching my kids all sorts of stuff....he he he. Not always my favorite thing but he is a good kid.
oh so if there are any single gals out there.. ? Yeah we'll get a picture of him up here too. And maybe his number. :)
So wow that's my family. Hope you enjoyed this super exciting post!
Til next time...

I don't know if Spence could be counted as a pet, a kid, an adult, or an annoying weed that won't go away!!! Anyway Owen and Sid definitely have a good scapegoat. The rest of your fam is great as well. Owen never tires out and thinks everything I do is way awesome. Sid is both my dad and my little Sadie. She is never sad and if she is, you always get her to cheer up quickly! Scott never misses a moment to tease me and always threatens to put me in the dumpster. (I don't know if that is good thing or a bad thing?) You're fam is really awesome! I'm glad that you guys live near us and that you guys never get tired of us visiting.
Thanks,
Superman91DelScorcho
P.S. This is Mike Moos if you hadn't guessed. I am sure you did though!! See you around. ;P
